Discovery Gateway, a children’s museum in Salt Lake City, UT, will kick off its 2013 series of Autism Family Nights on Monday, January 28 with free admission. Only families with autistic children may attend.
This two-hour session caters to the needs of families that deal with autism by freeing them from the burden of having to control their child in front of people unfamiliar with or unsympathetic to autism. Instead, families can relax, knowing that everyone else in attendance deals with the disorder as well.
Since Utah leads the country in autism spectrum diagnoses, Discovery Gateway responded to requests in 2012 with two private events and has secured sponsorship for an expanded 2013 series, all free of charge.
