I am looking for a mini lap top for my 13 yr old high functioning autistic son. He is mainstream school… 8th grade. They have to take tons of notes in class. He broke his arm in the 4th grade.. and experiences lots of pain still from that in his hand. Are there any funds out there for him, so we can get him one? I can’t afford it… do you have any information where I can go to ask? Thanks, Deb Beckwith
Deb,
You can ask ( I never ask, I inform everyone this will be done) to add into his accommodations in your son’s IEP to have the teachers give your son a copy of their lecture notes to take home and to copy as homework. Then he can turn back in the teacher’s lecture notes. I have done that with my daughter because she writes so slowly and very neatly.
I am looking for any scholarships for high school autistic students. These scholarships will be use for my high functioning autistic daughter to attend the university of her choice. This university is private and has staff that are ready for entering high functioning autistic students. It is her dream, as of right now, to become a Special Ed teacher and help other autistic students achieve their dreams like she has.
